Wacky Pest Wednesday: Spiders

 In News

Hey there Tri-County Pest Control fans, it’s another Wednesday, and we’re here with another edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday.  Join us today as we discussed one of the most feared pests out there: the spider.

Spiders are commonly seen as one of the infamous pests out there, and the arachnophobia of many people certainly does not help their status.  However, despite their widespread fear, some spiders can be beneficial to you and your family, as they will eat smaller pests such as flies which can infect your food.  On the other hand, there are some species of venomous spiders that can cause massive health complications to you and your family, such as the brown recluse and the black widow spider.

With this being said, it is more often better to be safe than sorry and to stop all spiders from getting into your home this winter.  One way in which you can do this is to give your exterior a quick check and make sure that there are no cracks or openings in both the siding and the weatherstripping.  Another easy way is to limit the time you have your doors and windows open, as they can provide an easy entrance for spiders to get into.

When it comes to spiders, it may not be easy to keep them out for good (as their small bodies can wiggle into the smallest of spaces) but it is easy to get them out, especially with the help of a professional pest management team.  If you think that you have a spider infestation in your home, give us a call today and we can rid them in no time!
