Wacky Pest Wednesday: Ladybugs

 In News

Hi there all you Tri-County Pest Control fans, and welcome to our newest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  This week we’re going over a pest that is harmless on its own, but can wreck havoc on other pests when in a group: the ladybug.

Ladybugs, as many of us know, are pretty friendly critters–they won’t bite or hiss, and quite frankly, they’re adored by all young and old.  At some point or another, we have all let a ladybug crawl around on our fingers, so you know first hand how gentle these guys can be.

Now, while they are friendly to humans, they are not so friendly to crop pests.  These critters will fly in and swoop up a bug that has been eating away at your plants, such as aphids and mites.  With keen senses, the ladybug is a master at this, too.

Fun fact about ladybugs: they are actually beetles, and are called such in the pest-control field.  Often, you’ll hear pest specialist reference “ladybug beetles”, which is the same as the ladybug, but just helps us specify the pest.

While a ladybug infestation should not be a major problem in your home, just be sure to keep all entrances sealed and fix any cracks in the exterior of your home that you may have.

For all your pest control needs, even if it entails thwarting a rare ladybug infestation, know that Tri-County Pest Control is here to help.  One quick call is all you need to take back your home.
