Oh the housefly—one of the most commons pests on the spectrum, right next to the cockroach.  Depicted in everything from cartoons to movies and videogames, these pests just stink.  Literally!

Anything rotten, smelly, or decaying makes for a great meal for these pests, which is why they are known as one of the most disgusting animals on the planet.  Jumping from your trashcan to your freshly cooked meal can spread heaps of pathogens and bacteria, which is why it is important to defend against these critters.

Your best defense against these nasty guys is to keep trash out of the home—that means no trash bags being left in the garage or other room, and to keep your kitchen tidy.  In addition, try to limit the amount of time you have doors and windows open, as once a passing fly smells food, they’ll come swarming in by the droves.  Since one female housefly can lay up to 150 eggs at once, your fly infestation can go from small nuisance to major problem in as little as 5 days.
