Wacky Pest Wednesday: Hornets

 In News

Hey there all you Tri-County Pest Control fans, and welcome to our newest edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday!  Today, we invite you to join us as we cover another stinging pest: the hornet.  Enjoy!

Hornets are a common flying pest that you may encounter during the summer season, but caution should be used in approaching these critters, as they are rather aggressive.  Technically a member of the wasp family, hornets can resemble a larger version of the yellowjacket or sport a reddish-brown color.  If you have a deck or wooden furnishings outside, you may see hornets scraping away chunks of wood for their nests, as they build their home out of a mix of saliva and wood.

Much like wasps, it is never a good idea to go after the nest yourself with the likes of a baseball bat or a bb gun.  Instead, if you find yourself faced with a hornet problem on your property, Tri-County Pest Control is here to help.  One call to us is all you need to make sure that your hornet problem is taken care of swiftly and humanely.  Once they’re out, we can even set up a comprehensive defense plan to make sure that they stay out.

Should you need any help with a summer pest this season, we’re your one-stop-spot.

Enjoy your Wednesday!
