Wacky Pest Wednesday: Grasshoppers

 In News

We have reached yet another Wednesday, Tri-County Pest Control fans, and we have yet another edition of Wacky Pest Wednesday for you.  Join us today, grasshopper, as we take a closer look at the grasshopper.

Grasshoppers are a very distinct type of insect, as their huge long legs make them stand out from a crowd.  From a distance, you may confuse a grasshopper for a cricket, as they look very similar from afar.  However, grasshoppers have shorter antennae, and the ability to fly.

Generally speaking, the grasshopper does not present a great threat as a pest, unless you are a gardener.  If you spend your days out tending your garden, then these critters can cause a huge headache since they love to munch on young, green plants, such as lettuce.  Other than that, the grasshopper will keep to itself.

The chances of a grasshopper infesting in your home is slim, especially since they need to lay their eggs in soil for them to survive.  So, unless you have dirt flooring, don’t expect to see too many grasshoppers jumping around your living room.

If the off chance happens that you are encumbered with a grasshopper infestation, always know that we are here to help.  One call to us will get those critters out of your home, and keep them out.  In addition, if you find yourself battling an exorbitant amount of grasshoppers out in your garden, give us a call and we may be able to lay a few traps to control them.  Either or, a call to Tri-County Pest Control will solve whatever pest problem you may have.

Enjoy the rest of your week, Tri-County Pest Control fans!
