Temperatures on the rise? Cockroaches could be, too – from Tri-County Pest Control

 In News

With summer steaming along (literally) at a breakneck pace and the mercury predicted to rise well into the 90’s this week (August is just over the horizon), there is particular pest we want you to be mindful of that may be attempting to make its way indoors to escape the sweltering heat.

What is this pest, you ask?

Unfortunately, it’s the cockroach.

All of the resources cockroaches need to survive can be found in your home. The key to keeping them at bay (and, outside) is to remove those creature comforts they will be seeking. They tend to fancy low-lit moist areas such as behind refrigerators, under sinks and stoves, as well as inside your appliances to hide and bread. Yuck.

Therefore, regularly clean and keep dry these particular areas. Because they can flatten their bodies to fit and travel through tight areas, they can also be found inside wall cracks.

Again, with the mercury and the humidity on the rise as the week progresses, keep your eyes peeled and your phone (or, other mobile device) ready to reach out to us.

One cockroach sighting probably means there are more hovering. This is one pest you don’t want to get out of hand.
