Resolutions for a Pest-Free 2017
Happy new year, Tri-County Pest Control fans! All of us here are very excited for what 2017 will bring our way, and we think you should feel the same as well! If 2017 brings anything, we hope that it brings you a pest-free home, but luckily, you don’t need to rely solely on the year to do that for you. Read on to find out how you can make 2017 a pest-free year!
We all know that pests are attracted to messes—especially messes in the kitchen—so one simple resolution that you can take up to keep the pests out this year is to give your kitchen a weekly cleaning. Nothing fancy or extravagant, but just a quick vacuum and mop each week should be enough to keep the pests out. In addition, you can make cleaning up right after dinner a priority, as pests can smelled left-out food from miles away.
Another simple resolution that you can take up is to check your weatherstripping and screens every week. Due to changing temperatures throughout the year, your weatherstripping may crack, which will create a neat hole for pests to come through. By keeping on top of it, you can know when those holes pop up, and keep pests out before they even think about walking through the door. A few minutes of your time and about $15 is all you need to get a new weatherstripping around—that’s cost-effective pest control if you ask us.
Speaking of cost-effective pest control, another easy way for you to keep pests at bay is to stay on top of all yard work, and to never let greenery get too close to your home. Critters like termites and beetles will use plants as cover to get near your home, and if there is an opening by these plants, they will certainly find a way into your home. Do yourself a favor and be sure to remove all shrubbery from your exterior when the weather gets warmer, and to trim any branches when they get too close to your home. Not to mention, keeping up with this resolution will make your home much more beautiful.
While we are sure that you have your resolutions that you want to get cracking on, picking up these extra ones will help keep your home pest-free in the coming year. They are simple, easy, and will help keep your house functioning all throughout the year, so why not take up a few more? And as always, we are here for any help or advice you may need.
From our family to yours, we wish you all the best in this coming year!
